It’s a great time for sourcing. Whether you’re a fan of thrift stores, garage sales or estate sales, we have so many opportunities this time of year. People are clearing out their closets, garages, attics and storage units. Whether they just want to declutter or they’re looking for a little extra cash to buy more stuff. Either way it’s fun searching through to find that treasure, that diamond in the rough. You can find items that are no longer made. You can find items you might not otherwise be able to afford that are near new with a lot of life still left in them. You can find items that other people treasured. Items that are now hard to find and holy crap, with the internet, you can be the person to bring that fun find or treasure to someone who otherwise might not have the time or ability to locate what they were wanting on their own.
Sometimes it can be really difficult to let some of these great finds go but I also know that I’ll get to keep searching and finding more great items tomorrow.
Now don’t get me wrong, not every place will be full of hits. In fact there are so many times I’m picking through and not finding anything, but when I find that one piece and at a great price, I can’t wait to share it. Sharing it online and sharing it with someone who would also really appreciate it. I really love that this is a job. I’m having fun. It’s taken me far too long to find out this is what I want to do but now that I’m doing it, I refuse to look back. Happy sourcing!
