Living in Central Texas, I’m lucky to live in an area where there are both small and large cities all around me. A day trip on a Saturday can be just the ticket for finding items that I need to fill my online stores and the great thing about this is there are so many people all around wanting to sell their stuff and waiting for buyers to drive to them. It’s a win-win situation in my eyes. I can drive off the beaten path for treasures and deals, bring them back and post them for sale. There are a lot of individual garage sellers that just don’t have the time or inclination to sell online and just want to get rid of their stuff. This is who we should look for. If you’re in a large city, competition is tougher and prices may be higher for some of these finds. Oh don’t get me wrong, there are some good deals all around and with a little luck you can find them but why not venture out? Less competition and traveling for fun, I live for that!
The other great thing I’ve encountered is regional finds. Last weekend I drove to a sale at a lakeside community and found a fabulous lot of wetsuits in great condition and one even new with tags for a fabulous price! This is something I want to try more of. I know some people just want to buy and list and go on, but to me, you have to add a little fun in there or you’ll just burn yourself out. I want to enjoy life more, see more and if I can do this and make money at the same time, count me in! I know there are enough items all around to share with other resellers so I will plan more trips. Whether I add in seeing the world’s biggest ball of twine or just seeing a city I don’t normally get to see and take in nature sites while sourcing/treasure hunting is perfectly fine with me. Happy hunting!
