It takes 3 weeks for a habit to take. If you really want to make a change, YOU need to make it happen. It’s up to you to make the time. It’s up to you to prioritize.
This can be applied to your personal or professional goals as well. It’s not enough to just make a goal. You also have to come up with at least 3 ways you will make that goal happen.
I have new health goals that I am tackling from a new perspective.
Personally I have given up soda as well as processed foods.
· I will involve family to make myself accountable.
· I will remove the items from my home and sight line.
· I will utilize a food journal to track what I am eating.
After years of indulgence, both items were a hard habit to break but I have completed the first 3 weeks and I can honestly say I feel better. My skin looks better. I am very happy to have done away with these bad habits and can look forward to reaping benefits for a long time to come.
Same for my professional life. Better purchases is my goal. More specifically, I want to make purchases going forward that will draw a following and repeat clients.
Before I purchase an item, I will ask myself:
· Does this item fit my store design
· Does this item have a high ROI
· Does this item have a high market saturation
That may seem like it should be a given, but I have been putting in the extra research and I’m working on items that I feel reflect my new store goals. I know I’ll have to purge items that are stale and have been in my store longer than they should be. I have come up with a plan to either update the listing or take better photos. I might even bundle them to get them out, but regardless, I have to address them head-on and decide, is this what I want in my store.
For my lifestyle changes to take effect, it will come down to the question, “is this what I want to reflect in my store/life?” Make sure you set not only clear goals but solutions on how you will achieve them and you will stand a better chance at achieving them. Good luck!
